I'm using a Dell Studio 1537 laptop. Doesn't matter whether I start up in normal or safe mode, I still cant get past the welcome screen. Note: Please click Continue if the "User Account Control" window pops up. 2. to me, it sounds as though something is wrong with your chkdsk/command prompts. But after enabling some programs and services, it stopped working and reverted to being frozen at the welcome screen again. comp tech YOUR THE PROBLEM lol im sure every person in here machine is a vista native laptop. So I uninstalled a few programs, tried to update windows, installed a Java update, thinking maybe something there was the problem, but the next time I turned it off (last night)
