Just like you they've been happening right from the start and there is no rhyme or reason to the freeze ups.This is my set-up: EVGA 790i Ultra motherboard Intel Q9450 processor There was one post in this thread that mentioned setting Power Options to High Performance, give that a shot. They are all SATA and I spread my programs, music, windows installs and games across various HDDs. It shuts down to the black screen point, and then gets stuck in limbo...forever if you don't do something to correct it...such as some of the other suggestions here about taking have a peek at this web-site
I could be using a browser, trying to watch a DVD, checking my e-mail, working in Word or anything and the computer just stops responding. I am running Windows Vista 64 Home Premium on my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. Its an IbuyPower PC I bought 2 1/2 years ago. Changed BIOS memory setting and frequency settings, over and over, no help. see here

I disconnected my external hard drives for normal mode and it froze up. However, only do this if you are always actively searching for files. 1. But I can't help myself from thinking it's not Windows at this point because the BIOS has yet to show up. I am tempted to wipe off the vista and reload the xp, but I kind of wanted to keep one with vista to see if I liked it.
