Fix Windows Media Player


When I clicked on WMP 11 in the Start menu (in Vista) it looked as though the computer would try to open it, but fail. I just bought a compaq laptop which has vista and I can't play avi files (in windows media player). So, this is what I tried and it worked for me. To the guy claiming that since WMA 11 is prepackaged in Vista and Microsoft cannot release an install because of it this is total bull. http://controlpanelsource.com/windows-media/windows-media-player-11-for-xp.html

You will need your Vista install CD in the drive for the program to find the replacement files. I even have trouble creating a movie DVD using Vista or WMP DVD Maker software. Take your Vista OS CD. After days of search i am totally discouraged and instead of converting 162 filed, installing windows xp on my laptop.

I am seriously considering to go back to xp, it was way easier and all of the software I bought worked properly. turning that off fixed my media player problems and also made these admin request pop ups stop. when i download movies from limewire they wont play in the windows media player 11. I also tried Micrtosoft's Support but, of course, unsuccessful. This is inexcuseable!!!!! Surely this cannot be what is intended.
