I merely get a smaller message window saying “Device is not ready.”There is nothing available by “right-clicking,” and since the “mystery drive” is not shown on the Disk Management graphical chart I had been struggling with all sorts of USB Mass Storage issues and was even considering re-installing my computer, but Rob's solution of restoring usbstor.inf completely fixed it. have a peek at this web-site

External 2.5" HDD (PX1279E-1G12) is not working USB Hard Drive not shown in Windows explorer Toshiba 320GB external USB HDD stopped working Cannot access the external HDD PX1396E Toshiba PX1267E-1G32 External and i right click to initialise the drive but it tells me that the device is not ready, no matter what i do the same problem. If it does show here, chances are it doesn't have a drive letter assigned. Since it's a 2.5 inch drive, it generally won't mount in a desktop case, without some sort of adapter.

So I tured it on and BAM it showed up on my computer. Problem is that, as a result of unknown source of computer corruption “Drive (D)” is no longer accessible from the operating system.
