This one apparently had to do with my video drivers being corrupted in the user i was using. Couldn't NOT boot to ANY other device. Spent 2.5 hours on chat with them and they told me that they will escalate the issue and have a specialist(?) call me back?I really don't want to do a reinstall, Does anyone know what's wrong? Especially since it scans every night.   I don't know how long it's been doing this because usually that family member just uses my account since it's almost always logged on. As you are on Vista Home, you will need to directly edit the registry. Mine was ok. I'm using an AMD Athlon64 3000+ with an nVidia geforce 6200 on Vista Ultimate.

But the other accounts on the system would only get a Black Screen, with a live cursor on logon. And by the way, the word "Vista" is pretty much equal to the word "Joke" anyway. I manually deleted them. Ok goodluck. And what I've noticed is that Vista is NOT shutting the laptop down completely.
